A Good-Plus copy in a slightly chipped, price clipped and lightly toned dustjacket. The dustjacket has a coloured bird illustration by Tunicliffe on the front cover. 192pp. Black and white illustrations by C. F. Tunnicliffe, and b/w end-paper maps - unfortunately the front free - half map - endpaper has been torn out - but the rear endpaper map is identical. Clean Black Boards, spine titled in bright gilt. Overall, apart from the faults as noted earlier, this is a Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy with NO Inscriptions or other marks. "The island of Skokholm, tiny and remote, off the wild coast of Pembrokeshire, where Ronald Lockley, as a young man, went to study the tens of thousands of wild creatures living there. Mr. Lockley tells of his struggle to wrest a living from this desolate place, at first alone, later with his wife and daughter. Of the rabbits and plagues of locusts...." ; 8vo 7" - 9" tall .
