From front DJ flap: "Volume 3 consists of the journals of Lewis and Clark (primarily Clark) during the period August 25. 1804, to April 6, 1805, and covers the expedition's route from the Vermillion River in present South Dakota to Fort Mandan in present North Dakota and their winter encampment there. It describes their encounters with Sioux, Arikara, Mandan, and Hidatsa Indians, including considerable ethnographic material on these tribes."

Book - Very Good condition. Blue cloth over boards covers have a few lightly rubbed areas. Minimal edge/corner wear. Bottom of the closed book pages has some shelf soiling.

Dust Jacket - Very Good condition. Jacket is in protective cover with only vey light rubbing. The inside area has some glue that caught some dirt that does not have contact with the book.
