Gold is worn on the 8 1/2" X 5 3/4" HC. Corners and edges of spine are rubbed and bend under. Has several stains plus a 1" paint stain at foredge back cover. Illus. of U.S. Grant has a 1" closed tear. Hinge is cracked back side with the paper torn and starting to tear at front.

Includes scarce priced dust jacket in archival Brodart sleeve. 301 pp. 7 1/2" x 5". Tight, brightly-colored cloth binding with sharp corners and moderate wrinkling to head and tail of spine panel. Hinges sturdy with no splitting. Unmarked front to back. Internals lightly toned. Dust jacket with light creasing to extremities, small tears to front and back panel and small area of loss to tail of spine panel. A presentable copy of an early Stratemeyer publication. Very Good. 54pp. The original pamphlet has been bound, I suspect in the 19th century, into dark green cloth boards with three quarter leather effect, with title and date on a paper patch on the front board. A previous owner's mark in copperplate is on ffl and title page.
