First Edition, First Printing. Near fine in a near fine original dust jacket near fine. Signed by the author on copyright page. Quite rare in this condition and rarer still with signature. Prior owner's bookplate on free front endpaper. Basis for the 1940 King Vidor classic film that was a box office success. The film starred Spencer Tracy, Robert Young, Walter Brennan, Ruth Hussey, and Nat Pendleton. An historical novel largely set in the northeastern U.S. during the French and Indian Wars. 8vo. A fantastic copy.
