About This Item

Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, 1972. This book would be listed in Fine, unread condition except that it is missing its front free endpaper. It comes with its original unclipped dust jacket in Very Good+ condition. (Click on photo.) Although this book is specially bound as a "Doubleday Reinforced Libarary Edition," it is NOT an ex-libary book and there are NO library markings. The book is bound in a handsome illustrated cloth with a painting by Barbara Bascove. The same illustration is used on the dust jacket, as shown in my photo. The dust jacket has some closed tears that have been carefully repaired on the reverse using non-acidic tape. I've placed the dust jacket into a Brodart protective sleeve. This page-turning biography of Mexico's greatest revolutionary hero reveals the great tragedy of Pancho Villa's life -- that he helped destroy an old way of life but was unable to help build a new one. The book measures 5 3/4 by 8 1/2 inches and includes 208 pages. . Hard Cover. Very Good+/Very Good+. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
