About This Item
This is a beautiful, beautiful illustrated volume of John Greenleaf Whittier's poetry from 1885. The cover has elaborate Eastlake style decoration embossed in black on the dark green boards, with a title gilt rectangle with delicate flowers. The spine is also quite decorative with black and gilt embossing. The frontispiece has an engraving of Whittier, as shown in a photo. Page edges are gilt on three sides and very clean, and binding is tight. There is a dedication on inner flyleaf in ink. Condition issues are: three whitish spots on the front cover, worn spine, bumped corners and bottom front edge.
Please examine the photos for condition and please contact me for more information.
