Moscow: Foreign Languages Publishing House. Very Good in Good+ dust jacket. (1950). Presumed First Edition. Hardcover. No Date given - but likely 1940s / early 1950? . In red-orange boards with blue decorative titling to the spine and decorated title stamped in blue and white to the front cover. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket which has some closed tears (internally repaired with clear archival tape) , some chipping and surface scrapes to the edges but is otherwise complete and now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks VG. Internally some browning to the endpapers o/w FINE. NO Inscriptions or Marks. 243 pp. Illustrated throughout in b/w by T. A. Mavrina and K. V. Kuznetsov. A collection of Russian folk tales - the stories include "Peg-Leg Bear," "The Gossipy Wife," "Father Frost," "The Cock and the Bean", "The Fox and the Crane", "The Cunning Muzhik" and "Death and the Soldier", " Fenist the Bright Falcon" and twenty-four others. English translations by Bernard Isaacs, Irena Zheleznova, Eugene Felgenhauer and Dorian Rottenberg. Overall a Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy. Images available on request. ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall .
