Philadelphia: Claxton, Remsen & Haffelfinger, 1873. A desirable copy of the First Edition -- tough-to-find like this in the publisher's cloth binding. Very Good condition. SEE PHOTOS. This is the 1873 HARDCOVER first printing -- not a cheaply-made modern reprint. NOT a library discard. It is bound in the original cloth with a gilt-decorated spine and blind-stamped covers. The spine is uniformly sun-lightened but all gilt lettering and decorations are still bright and distinct. SEE PHOTOS. The cover is faded at the edges. Spine ends and corners are mildly worn. Hinges are sound. Original yellow endpapers. No owner's name or bookplate. A few pages are lightly foxed but are otherwise clean and unmarked. The set comes with its original, oversized color map (35" tall x 31" wide) titled "Commissioners Map of Concord New Hampshire" dated 1902.
