About This Item
Van Nuys: Hoffman, Richard J., 1988. 82pp. One of 250 copies. Text first published in 1921. The type ornaments chosen by Hoffman are arranged chronologically by designer (Garamond, Granjon, Rogers) and printed in color. The introduction refers to the printer's late friend, who insisted that the genealogical study of the alphabet is "a printer's finest tool, his mightiest weapon or its humblest slave." Fine in ornamental cloth, with the Greek symbols for alpha and omega printed on the front and rear covers, respectively. A very attractive and well-designed miniature. (2 3/4 by 2 7/8; 70x74mm).
