Hardcover. Very Good. Very good decorative stamped green cloth, bright gilt T S coat of arms in gilt on front covers (bright). 1848 and 1850 printings from the Sydenham society. No reader's marks. Clean, brief foxing in vol. I and a little more foxing to internal pps. of Volume Two. cviii + 276pp. + viii + 393pp. Half-title ports. Brief edgewear, rounding at corners. Vol. II has a pea-sized loss of cloth, closed, at center of spine. The best translation, with a life of the author, by R. G. Latham, M.D.
