Bound in blue cloth stamped in gold. 12 mo. 7-3/8" x 5-1/4". 139 pp. plus 2 pp. publisher's ads for other works by John James Piatt and Mrs. Piatt. A tight, sturdy copy with a few smudges on the title page and scattered very light foxing. 1-1/2 " split beginning from bottom of back past down endpaper along the joint. Tiny chip out of the fore-edge of the free front endpaper. Wear at top and bottom of spine. A little wear at corner tips.. Expressing life, character and sentiment in the Ohio Valley, describing the Western landscape. Poems which appeared in author's previous volumes had been revised for this volume and a few corrections made.

Vandenberg Room at the University of Michigan, dated October 16, 1974. Also, a folder about the Arthur H. Vandenberg Papers in the Michigan Historical Collections at the Bentley Historical Library of the U of M. Vandenberg's career began as a newspaperman in Grand Rapids, MI and became an influential member of the United States Senate for nearly a quarter of a century, the leading exponent within the Congress of a bipartisan foreign policy; after World War II he became one of the principal founders of the United Nations.

A lovely early copy of this recently discontinued book. Clean, crisp, unmarked pages. Two pages have invisible phantom line impressions, if you look closely, that show that someone tried to trace a picture. But there are no marks. A little faint wear at top and bottom of spine and bottom edge./No dust jacket.. Dr. Seuss.
