Hardback, 1966, first edition, rare cover, published by Hurst & Blackett, 184 pages. No dust jacket but has pictorial boards and a laminate coating applied by the publisher. Seems to be a former library book and has remnants of what might be a library sticker as well as a stamp. Some shelf-wear to boards and bumped corners and a bit of a forward tilt to the book. Browning to page edges with a bit of foxing on the surface of the odd page. Page surfaces generally clean, the odd pen or pencil mark but no underlining, marginalia, etc. A decent copy. Hardcover, 1955, first edition, published by Secker & Warburg, London, 248 pages.
Measures around 7 1/2" by 5 1/4" by 1". Dust jacket is a little torn and slightly tattered at edges, with a little scuffing and marking and some staining on rear, but reasonably clean and colouring/design to front cover area is vivid. Deep maroon cloth binding, very clean. Very slightly bumped corners. Small signs of shelf-wear. Slight slackness to binding but reasonably firm. Page edges a little scuffed, foxed and browned. Some marking to endpapers, staining to rear pastedown and endpaper and some staining to pages towards end of book. A couple of inked initials to rear pastedown, gift inscription to front free endpaper. Otherwise page surfaces clean, with no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.

Some marking and scuffing to binding, heavy discolouration and wear to spine with tear across centre. Signs of shelf-wear, rubbing at edges and on hinges. Bumped corners. A little slackness to binding but book contents quite firm. Page edges browned, scuffed and a bit foxed. Some marking to endpapers, gift inscription on front free endpaper. Kilgorman: A Story of Ireland in 1798 by Talbot Baines Reed.
Hardback, 1895, first edition, published by T. Nelson and Sons, 420 pages, vintage children's book.
Pictorial cloth boards and spine. Gilt lettering and picture detail to front board and spine, somewhat faded, more so on spine. Boards are quite scuffed, a bit faded and marked but have retained much of their colours. Signs of rubbing and shelf-wear. Corners bumped and a little torn. Binding reasonably firm though front and rear inner hinges are cracked. Gilt upper page edge, scuffed but still quite visible. Page edges browned and a bit marked. Seller stamp to FFEP with corner torn which is still attached but only just. Written school prize-giving inscription to next page. A little foxing to endpapers. The odd mark here and there but otherwise page surfaces are quite clean, no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.

Some marking to endpapers, gift inscription on front free endpaper.
