About This Item

Four volume hardcover set of Verne titles. The standout feature of this set is the condition which is Near Fine. Decorative blind stamped boards of blue cloth. Minor abrasions can be seen on the front and rear boards. The interiors have no writing, folds or other evidence of use. The paper is moderately toned and somewhat fragile. The only defect I can find is the ffep of Michael Strogoff which partially cracked when I was trying to image the title page. So handle with care, these are not reading copies. A curious feature seen in three volumes is the font size drops in the final few pages. Volumes are 7.25 x 5 inches. A very cool set with nice shelf presence. This is an uncommon edition. I assume there are other Verne titles with this binding but I could not find them. Please see images of the books you will receive. Feel free to inquire. Notes: I did some research to determine date of publication. I am assuming that Hurst published these more or less at the same time. Claudius Bombarnac was first published in 1894 and Hurst stopped publishing in 1919 so these have to be somewhere in that range. There is no copyright page. Hurst published many editions and I am not sure which one this is. Someone might know but it is not me. I found a somewhat similar Hurst cover in "The Lucile Project" and it was called "unidentified edition." Which is where I ended my research.
